Delicious Library is, admittedly, a bit of an investment—but if you look at their website, they are a very small company. Your money probably feeds each employee, not a vast pocket of development wealth like many other apps. They are very independent. They have earned my $25 for their continued service and for developing a best-in-its-class piece of software.
I’ve had Delicious Library for nearly 7 years and have enjoyed seeing it grow—the barcode scanner works quite well with more mainstream items, and things that are more obscure can be added manually, which is not so bad. Their customer service is and always has been impeccable. They really seem to care that their product is working. There’s wit and intelligence in their feedback and it’s appreciated.
One of the most impressive aspects of the program is the array of export options. Many people seem to want more in order to back-up to their clouds, etc, but I just wanted to preserve my library and its shelves (with many obscure, detail-ridden items) so that I could transport my DL3 to a new computer. Doing so was surprisingly painless and seamless.
Ok, now the ‘suggestion’ part: I collect curated Blu-rays made in South Korea which are NEVER recognized by DL3…I realize that the DL3 system is largely reliant upon Amazon, but I’m wondering if you could grow from that model. (Yes, Amazon has almost everything—but not everything…)
