Delicious Library 3 App Reviews

Kept me from going crazy

I have only written two other reviews in my life. Delicious Library deserves the third. I use Evernote in conjunction with Delicious Library III. Everything that I buy whether it is for the kitchen or forms of media, I link it to its receipt in Evernote. Delicious Library allows me to visually see what I have but tagged with the receipt in Evernote. I have been using Delicious Library from their first incarnation. It is excellent by itself but superb when using it to catalog ALL the things that you own for insurance purposes.

NOOO!!! This update crashes!

I updated to this version for Yosemite and is crashes upon startup. Cannot even use this program anymore! Please fix this immediately!

Great app

The scanning is impressively fast. Really accurate on most of my books, though a few odd misses. Overall really pleased with the app, though it crashes. I’ll make sure to re-review as 5 stars once that’s fixed.

Don’t Update!

I’ve been using Delicious Library almost from the very beginning and I’ve never had a problem. Since updating to this new version (not so hootin, tootin!) the app crashes every time. It’s now become unusable. Please fix this ASAP and I’ll update my review. We all make mistakes and now it’s time to fix yours.

Graphic glitches, crashing… yeah the update is broken

After launching the update, I was at the familiar bookshelf veiw, only to notice that everthing now had a pinkish hue. I switched to list view, and the program promptly crashed. Now it crashes every time I try to launch it. Wonderful.

Not What It Used To Be!!

The previous version worked so well, it it hard to understand why the current version works so poorly. After upgrading to Yosemite it appeares that my entire library is lost. The new version of Delicious Library is, for me, quite crash prone. When I can get it to remain open neither the scanner on my iPhone nor my iMac work at all.Very frustrating to dsay the least.

Just crashes

I just downloaded this, opened it up, and it crashed. Opened it again. It crashed. Big fat fail, guys. For $25? This app stinks.

So excited to use this app…if only it would stop crashing.

The idea behind this app is really exciting for me, but it keeps crashing every time I try to scan a bar code to add a book. Please fix this bug ASAP! This is the most expensive app I’ve ever bought but it would be so worth the money…if it worked!! I’ll change the 1-star rating as soon as they fix this bug. Please do it ASAP!!!

much better

So far love this update! Seems more stable and looks much better. icloud sync would be nice - but think you guys are doing a great job.

Five Stars Will Be Given For Adding iCloud and iOS

I’ve used delicious since version 1 and I love the interface. I will give a rating of five stars once iCloud and iOS are a feature of the software. This is a no-brainer!

iCloud Sync or iCloud Drive Needed

*Update* 3.3.5 The developer has explained on their forums some of the issues with Apple iCloud drive/sync SDK, but based on their description, it seems like it has been awhile since they have revisited this opportunity. Since so much of the Apple world is driven by having your information everywhere, all the time, my review below still stands. At least let us put our DL3 library in our Dropbox folder? —snip— This app has the potential to be one of the best apps on the Mac or OS X, but they refuse to develope for iCloud. All of us want to have our information and update on the fly, this is the obvious eco system that has been pushing Apple for sometime now. Which is why I am so surprised that such an Apple oriented company has not engaged this philosophy or seen the writing on the development wall. Once Bruji solves their Amazon problem or some other developer takes this book/media management idea in the right direction, Delicious will be a memory. I hope that isn’t so! I like Delicious, they have a great history of being Mac focused. But please guys, get on the iCloud SDK bandwagon like yesterday!

Way overpriced and not enough features!!

Boy, did I waste my money on this app! It is definitely not worth $25 and I’m mad at myself for even buying it. For such an expensive app, it is very bland with no syncing or iCloud support. I was able to scan barcodes in from my iPhone with their app for that, but the syncing to the computer was spotty, at best. I’m very disappointed in this app! Also, there is very little in the way of documentation or help. You sure don’t get much for your money! I won’t be using this and wish I could get my money back!

Love it!

I love this app. It is super easy to use and can be used with my iphone as well.

too coslty for limited control

1. Couldn’t get Delicious iPhone barcode scanner app to sync to the Delicious Library Mac app, even on same wireless network, even after disabling firewall. 2. Users are not allowed to turn “recommendations” feature OFF, which means it’s unclear how users’ data is being used, with or without Amazon, to determine recommendations. Couldn’t find any privacy policy online or in the app forum. 3. For $25, would be nice if some other services (or at least 1 other service), other than Amazon, were offered for ISBN searches (whether OCLC/worldcat, some open-source option, etc.). I could understand the above limitations and “features” if this were a free app (either an app with ads or if there was disclosure about how the Amazon data is being used, or not being used), but paid users should have more control over app options, period.

Different from DL2 but I like it so far

Finally upgraded to DL3 after holding out with DL2 and the old iOS app that synched the library. At first the differences took awhile to get used to but now that I’ve settled in, I like it. I’m still exploring ways to put my items onto my iPad so I don’t buy things I already own (I do this all too frequently). I like the Item details pane - lots of useful information in there. Being able to pair my iPhone scanner app as provided by Deliciious Monster is a very nice touch. They will get a fifth star if DM and Amazon can come to terms on allowing an iOS version of the app (and i will be happy to pay for the iOS app).

Great library app

I have tons of books, movies, & music. I have moved three times in the last 5 years. This app is the only way I have any idea what I own or where it is. It’s also pretty and fun to organize but if you’re one of those anti-skeumorphic people, you’ll probably hate the wooden bookshelves. It is easy to add titles to the collection, although I’m really glad they added the iPhone app because I don’t need to haul my titles to the computer anymore. I’ve found pairing my iPhone relatively easy but I have had trouble re-connecting after I’ve disconnected. I end up deleting the pairing and starting over. There are some issues with this app, largely due to the fact that it’s supported by a three-person shop. The help and instruction documentation is rudimentary to say the least so a lot of useful features can be undiscovered. I don’t particularly want my entire library on my phone but I would really like a searchable title/author list so I can avoid re-buying the same title.

Minimal Kindle support

This is a good app if all you have are physical books with a bar code. It is difficult to add ebooks. Needs better support for easy importing of my Kindle library.

Good, but…..

I like the iOS scanner, but if the library does not find the item, the Mac should beep to let me know I need to manually enter the item into the library. This feature would make scanning your entire CD collection into Delicous Library mush quicker.

I wasted my money!

I uninstalled this version and switched back to DL2 because this version kept freezing my computer!

Perfect

Does exactly what I wanted. Best library app in the store.
