Current Review: It’s very good now. I don’t love it yet, but it is very good, and I’d recommend it for sure.

Yay! The recommendation debug button is gone! That means that the developers read these reviews and improve their app as a result. Anyway, the mic button for voice search is still odd, and the scrolling through libraries still could use another layer of silk applied to it. I still wish that the app had a "Preferences" option in the menubar with customization options galore. But all-in-all, the app has improved. 3 stars to 4 stars. I really like it, but I dont love it yet. Keep up the great work.

Did I own DL2? Yes, it was great. I only wished that I could catalog my crap with DL2 using my iPhone as the scanner. Guess what? DL3 does this. The setup for the iPhone scanner app was easy and fun. However, This application suffers from some bad juju that I assume will be sorted out as users use the application. Its only going up from here.
Things I think are problems or are confusing:
-When actively using the app (not just leaving it open and running in the background) it consumes a crazy amount of system resources. While the Mac does a spectacular job of managing the monster that is Delicious Library 3, the beast itself is quite unruly.
-Scrolling needs to be fixed badly. I imported a huge amount of stuff from my DL2 database, and scrolling through all that content is not pretty.
-The Recommendation tab is nice, but the "Recommendations Debug" button seems weirdly out of place and the "Recommendations Debug" dialog window is really confusing.
-The "Mic" icon next to the search bar is weird. Deliciously Library works ONLY on Mountain Lion. I could be totally wrong, but cant all Moutain Lion compatible computers allow the double tap of the "fn" key to enable dictation? Cant this feature of OSX be integrated in the search bar for DL3?
Cool stuff:
-Scanning barcodes with an iOS device to update your Delicious Library! <----Best thing EVAR!
-Recommendations. I know its dumb to think a marketing/sales/kickback system is cool, but it is.
-If its got a barcode and can be bought online, you can probably add it to your library.
-The graphs and charts to show you how valuable your crap actually is…cool, but sad (for me anyway).
Yeah, there are some problems, either of a practical or aestethic nature. Aestetics obviously dont matter too much, but it seems to be that most, if not all of those issues could be addressed if the app had Preferences. Why doesnt DL3 have its own preferences?
All-in-all I will still recommend this app. Why? Because it comes from a development group that I have come to trust. I know that most, if not all, issues with Delicous Library 3 will be sorted out as this software inches closer to perfection.
